SAM LOCK

24th August - 4th October 2024

Visits by appointment only. Please call or text 07725 830195 to book your day and time.

After several months closed at the old cow shed gallery, with those months used to prepare our new venue for you, we are now ready to open our first exhibition at PARC LETTIS with esteemed abstract artist SAM LOCK and his third solo show with us CONTINUUM.

We are beyond proud of this expansion and commitment to our Gallery at Home concept and thrilled to finally be able to say we have brought our gallery ethos full circle and back to where it belongs.

The rooms are light-filled and expansive, embodying the intrinsic connections between artworks and the home aesthetic. We hope our home gallery concept will inspire you to enjoy a curated and considered lifestyle, living with and loving the art you chose to collect.

Sam lock brings huge kudos to us, as long-time fans and collectors of his work it has been a joy to watch his art practice grow and expand internationally. His work continues to inspire us and we are excited to be able to offer you this opportunity to view such a sublime selection of his pieces within our domestic setting.

"The context for this exhibition is not just a house but a palimpsest - full of memory traces from the lives that have passed through it, the time it holds, a continuity. The works we have curated for the exhibition “Continuum” echo this - they bridge across several bodies of language - held together not by appearance but by intention.

All my work has at its centre a preoccupation with our relationship with time and the runaway train of “now” that we live on.  There is a “now” in every mark we make but it is also an instant memory of itself, a history.  Everything you see is in the past - if you look at the moon, you’re seeing a little over a second ago, the sun is more than eight minutes in the past.

The act of looking at the paintings in this show is to look a nanosecond or two into history while standing on your point of now." - Sam Lock
