Lost and Found

LOST + FOUND - is a combination of enigmatic portraits and familiar (yet grounded in the abstract) landscapes by Jane Bennett. Views that have been reproduced, reworked to become a new interpretation of an existing place, time and light forever changing.
The works seamlessly connect around the subject of memory and nostalgia. Places we have visited and loved, people we know or have known, a sense of recognition, familiarity. The portraits especially, are created using lost and found photographs and are then recreated, altered, rediscovered to become something new entirely. A new identity.
As we come to the end of a beautiful era here at the cowshed and embark on a new one, this show gently sees us move forward with warmth and recognition of the people and places we have loved. We are ready to make new memories and experiences in a new place and time, with people we are yet to meet.
